Brand life starts before the colour hits the press
Brand life is not a mood board on a wall. It is the full arc from a client call to a kit that stands in the weather, sits on a chest, or opens on a phone. A branding specialist lives inside that arc. The job is to keep the mark honest from brief to install.
At thisisbrand that means outdoor, exhibition, clothing, NFC, out of home, digital, and fan zone work can share one day. The specialist does not own one channel. They own the hit.
Morning: lock the brief
The day usually opens with a quote pack. What is the date. Who sees it. What must happen when they tap, walk past, or wear it. A branding specialist cuts noise out of the brief before anyone prices a run.
They ask for artwork status, colour proof needs, install notes, and whether NFC or a lander sits behind the physical piece. If the goal is fuzzy, the kit will be fuzzy. Morning is for clarity.
Midday: design meets make
By midday the work is concrete. File checks. Size checks. Substrate choices that hold shock red and electric orange under South African sun. Caps, gazebos, lightboxes, metal cards. Same brand rules across different materials.
The specialist walks the line between design intent and what the floor can ship. They push for the strong layout, then protect the deadline. Brand life is equal parts taste and logistics.
Afternoon: campaigns and the tap
When NFC or digital is in play, the afternoon often turns to the journey after the glance. Where does the phone go. What does the guest do next. How will the campaign swap destinations without reprinting the whole kit.
A branding specialist treats campaign management as part of the brand, not an add on. Encode, deploy, measure, iterate. The physical piece and the screen response have to feel like one mark.
Close of day: proof and next wave
The day closes with proofs, install photos, or a short note on what the next wave should change. Brand life is a loop. Launch, learn, tighten the brief, ship again.
That is a day in the life of a branding specialist here. Not only logos. Kits that carry a story into rooms, roads, bodies, and screens. Quote led. Built to hit hard.
