Who we are
This website is operated by thisisbrand, a South African branding business that makes NFC cards, outdoor branding, exhibition stands, custom clothing, out of home media, gifting and fan zone goods, and builds websites. In this policy and these terms, we, us and our mean thisisbrand.
thisisbrand is the responsible party for the personal information described below, as defined in the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). We respect your privacy and only collect what we need to answer your enquiry and run the website.
What we collect
- Quote and contact form: your name, business name, phone number, email address, the products you want priced, any notes you add, and whether you ticked the box to receive related content and offers.
- Website usage: we use Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to count page views and measure how fast pages load. They record the page visited, referrer, country, device and browser type, and performance timings. They do not use cookies and do not build a profile of you across other sites.
- Your theme choice (light or dark) is saved in your browser local storage so the site remembers it. It is never sent to us.
How the quote form works
The quote and contact forms do not store your details on a website database. When you submit the form, the site prepares an email and opens your own email app so you can review and send it. Your details then travel by email, through your email provider, to our sales mailbox.
Why we use your information
- To prepare and return your quotation and to talk to you about your job (needed to take steps at your request before a contract is made).
- To deliver, invoice and support an order you place with us.
- To send related content, discounts and offers, but only if you ticked the box to say yes. You can withdraw that consent at any time.
- To keep the website secure and to understand which pages work (our legitimate interest, using anonymous analytics).
- To meet legal and tax duties.
Sending information outside South Africa
Vercel and some of our service providers process data on servers outside South Africa. Where that happens we rely on providers that protect personal information to a standard equal to POPIA, or on your consent, as section 72 of POPIA requires.
How long we keep it
We keep quote enquiries for as long as we need them to answer you and follow up. Records of orders, invoices and payments are kept for the period the law requires. For example, South African tax law requires business records to be kept for five years. When we no longer need information, we delete it or make it anonymous.
How we protect it
The website is served over HTTPS with security headers that limit what scripts and frames can run. We keep access to quote emails limited to people who need them. No system is perfectly secure, so if we become aware of a breach that affects you, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.
Your rights
Under POPIA you may ask us to:
- tell you whether we hold personal information about you and give you a copy;
- correct or delete information that is inaccurate, out of date or that we should not keep;
- stop using your information for direct marketing, or withdraw a consent you gave earlier;
- object to us processing your information on the basis of our legitimate interest.
Questions and complaints
Send any privacy request through our contact page and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you are not happy with how we handled your information, you have the right to complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at https://inforegulator.org.za.
